‘Terry M. Townsend’

July 6, 1944 – August 26, 2026

Terry M. Townsend left this world peacefully in his Arizona home on August
26, 2026 at the age of 82. Terry was a cherished husband, dad, grandpa,
great-grandpa and friend whose presence will be greatly missed. Terry is
finally in his right mind again as Alzheimer’s took him from us years ago.

Terry was born on July 6, 1944 to Marvin Monroe Townsend and Doris P.
(Rademacher) Townsend in Charles City, Iowa. He grew up in Iowa
spending most of his time on his Grandpa’s farm, where he raised more
hell than he did corn. Terry got to Wyoming as fast as he could! He met the
love of his life, Norma Kay Gifford in Buffalo, WY. They were married on
July 27, 1973. To this union he brought four children and added two more
making the six T’s.

Terry was a business owner most of his life starting with a gas station in
Buffalo, WY. He will be most remembered for his towing business of 34
years, Terry’s Towing. Terry met many of his friends by towing them in or
working on their car. He never met a stranger and would give you the shirt
off his back if you needed it.

Terry loved riding horses, motorcycles and 4-wheelers. No matter how
many times he fell off he got right back on. He was a resilient man. Hunting
was a passion he shared with family and friends alike. He would always
invite anyone he met to come hunt Wyoming with him.

After his big accident, Terry’s therapy was building his cabin at the North
40. He spent lots of his time communing with nature and enjoying his sage
chickens.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Pat Nelson, and many
cousins.

Terry is survived by his wife Norma, his 6 T’s:
Tim and Tink Townsend, Travis Townsend, Trisha and Mike Dahlin, Teresa
Hittner, Tanya and Marc Collier and Troy Townsend, 7 grandchildren: Jacob
Collier, Marissa and Tommy Harvey, Alexis Collier, Ryan Collier, Kage
Hittner, Jett Dahlin and Kyle Rodabaugh and 4 great-grandsons: Henry and
Eugene Harvey, Cody and Riley Rodabaugh. Terry is survived by his
favorite cousins. Terry is survived by too many numerous friends and
adopted children to mention them all. Thank you all for your help and
friendship over the years.
