Rosanna Abercrombie passed away peacefully at her home in Apache Junction, Arizona from natural causes on Monday, 21 January 2019. She was 86 years old.
The ninth of ten children, Rosanna was born 27 December 1932 in Velpen, Indiana, to Blythe Cecil McCormack and Esta Belle (Wineinger) McCormack. She was a 1951 graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rosanna married Roy Abercrombie in June of 1951, and they had three sons between 1956 and 1964.
In the late 1960s, she attended Lear-Siegler Institute of Technology, earning a two-year degree in computer programming. Rosanna worked as a computer programmer in Indianapolis from the early 1970s until she retired in the mid 1990s. Following the death of her husband, Rosanna moved to Cape Coral, Florida in 1998 where she did volunteer work at a local hospital. In 2016, as her health began to decline, she moved to Apache Junction, Arizona where she would be near two of her sons and two of her grandchildren.
Rosanna was preceded in death by both of her parents, Blythe and Esta; seven sisters: Ruth, Anita, Velma, Betty, Delores, Jessie, and Virginia; one brother, Charles, and her husband of 46 years, Roy.
Survivors include one brother, Bob (Doris), three sons: Mark (Glenda), Bruce, and Kent; three grandchildren: Kristin, Brandy, and Joseph; and several nieces and nephews.
Rosanna requested that her remains be cremated and her ashes scattered in the same location as her husband.
