Richard Dean Burns, age 86 of Gold Canyon, AZ passed away May 23rd 2021. Richard was born in Sioux Falls SD., to Sylvester and Lila (Wetterberg) Burns. Richard graduated from Central High School in Rochester, Minnesota. He served in the 82nd Airborne division of the Army. Richard worked at IBM in Rochester for 28 years retiring as a Senior Tool and Model Maker.
Richard enjoyed working on cars and riding on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He married Evelyn Spoor and was later divorced. He was remarried to Orrine Parks in Wabasha, Minn. Richard and Orrine enjoyed traveling. Always coming back to home to Arizona for the last 11 years.
Survivors include his wife Orrine, one son Jeff (Toni) Burns of Wabasha, Minn. One brother Mark (Mary) Wernstrom of Rochester, Minn. and Nephew Kyle Wernstrom of Rochester, Minn. Two grandchildren Max (Carissa) Burns of Waconia, Minn., Jack (Lyndsie) Burns of Wabasha, Minn. Two great granddaughters Harper and Scarlett Burns of Waconia Minn. One cousin Georgeanne Mellen of New Mexico. Step-daughter Sonja (Gordy) Sandquist, Step-sons Steven (Lynn) Parks, and Eric Parks. Richard was predeceased by his daughter Pamela Burns, son Douglas Burns, parents Sylvester Burns and Lila Rogers.
