Ray met the love of his life, Deborah, while stationed at William AFB, Arizona. Their paths crossed at the NCO Club, and from that moment, their bond grew stronger with each passing day. What began as a chance meeting turned into a lifelong partnership of 39 years built on love, respect, and shared adventures. Together, they created a home filled with laughter and warmth, raising two wonderful children and cherishing every moment as a family. He enjoyed spending time on his boat, fishing, camping, bowling, barbequing, and playing bingo. He loved spending time watching his favorite sports: baseball, football, and NASCAR. He never missed a chance to root for his teams: the St. Louis Cardinals, Arizona Cardinals, and Arizona Diamondbacks. Ray was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9399 where he enjoyed volunteering and spending time.
Beyond his impressive career, he will be remembered for his integrity, his strength, and the way he touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege to serve alongside him. His legacy is one of courage, professionalism, and love for his country and for the people who meant the most to him. Ray leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forever: his devoted wife, Debbie; his children, Ashley (Rob) and Brandyn. He was a proud Papa to his cherished grandchildren, Sophia, Levi, Emma, Freya, and Peighton. He is survived by his brother, Jamie (Susan), sisters-in-law Mandy, Lisa (Frank), and Jennifer (Morgan), former daughter-in-law Emelie, along with nieces and nephews: Seferina, Joseph, TJ, Josh, Harrison, Maxine, Tony, Lars, Axel, and Jaxson along with countless family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. He leaves behind his fur babies Bailey and Betty, who never left his side. His circle of family and friends was wide, and each one will remember his laughter, his kindness, and his love. Ray has reported for his final assignment in the skies above, where he joins the ranks of heroes who served before him. His devotion to duty and country will forever inspire those who follow. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory remain a blessing to all who loved him, for Ray will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
In Loving Memory of Ray, a Memorial Mass will be held at St. George’s Catholic Church on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Veterans of Foreign War Post 9399. Interment will take place on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the National Cemetery of Arizona.
