It is with the saddest of hearts our family shares the news of the sudden death of our brother, son, father, uncle, grandpa, nephew, cousin, friend – Michael Scott Morris. Mike had been struggling for quite awhile with his disability and pain management, as well as depression and, more recently, homelessness. We were notified on July 22 . 2021, he was found in his car and likely died from heat exhaustion.

Mike was born on September 25, 1960, in Forest City, Iowa. He graduated high school from Ventura, Iowa, and attended college at NIACC in Mason City, Iowa, and CAC in Mesa, Arizona. He lived in Iowa most of his life and relocated to Arizona around 2008, where he has lived since then.

Mike is survived by: his parents, Elgin and Claudia Morris, in Apache Junction, AZ; his Grandma Helen Morris, Hurricane, UT; his sisters, Dawn Larson, Hurricane, UT and K’Ann (Karl) Dearie, Pleasant Hill, IA; his children, Micah Morris, Eric (Kim) Reicherts, and Mathias (Barrin) Morris; his grandchildren, Wyatt, Aislynn, Ashton, Zander, and Brayedin; his nieces and nephews, Kady, Gage, Keali Larson, Hunter (Illiana) Brandt, Kris, Kory, and Kari Dearie.

There are no planned services at this time, and his body will be cremated, with his ashes scattered in the desert, which he so loved.
