Maureen Mary Walker (Mary Carroll McGuire), 86 from Apache Junction, Arizona left this earth and went up to heaven on Friday July 24th, 2020.  Maureen passed away peacefully at home with family.  She is survived by her son Douglas Walker, her daughter Lynne Brunetto, son-in-law Paul Brunetto and her two grandchildren Marc and Timothy Brunetto.  Maureen was preceeded in death by her wonderful husband Robert (Bobbie), her parents John and Elizabeth McGuire and 5 siblings, Frank, Rita, Leslie, Neil, and Dougal. Maureen was born on the 10th of August, 1933 in Glasgow, Scotland.

During her younger days, she moved to Canada, then immigrated to the United States (California).  Maureen was a mom, a homemaker, a dressmaker, a writer, a reader of poetry and had a life long love of music.  Her favourites were Frank Sinatra, Harry Belafonte and Harry Lauder.  Maureen could carry a tune quite beautifully. When she was younger she toured with her father John to Charity events and sang with him. Mom spoke through her eyes, her infectious smile and her laugh and beauty.

She was always up for adventure and fun!  During and after raising her two children, Maureen opted for bicycling for travel and health when Bob was working.  In her later years she was adoringly known as “the little old lady from Pasadena” when she then had a little Mo-Ped and scooted about the town.

Maureen lived her life according to God’s will and purpose.  Her goodness and interest in others lives and their well-being resonated.  She touched everyone she knew in a beautiful way.  She will always be remembered through gentle and loving memories that she created for others.

A private funeral will be planned for family. A celebration of Maureen’s life will be held at a future date and family and friends are invited to attend.  We will miss our beautiful Scottish rose.
