Lisa Anna Garcia passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2023. She
was born in El Paso, TX on October 6, 1958. She had a colorful childhood
surrounded by 3 siblings (Dora, Rudy, and Christine) all of whom survive
her. Her parents, Salvador and Mary Lou Castro (who both preceded her in
death), taught Lisa the values of hard work, persistence, and most
importantly love for others.

Lisa moved to Arizona in 1982 where she worked at Motorola. There she
met her husband of 38 years, Tom. Lisa and Tom have 2 children, Rudy and
Risa. Lisa had an incredibly adventurous life. Shortly after Rudy was
born, she and Tom moved to Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
During this time Risa was born and the family enjoyed many stops in
Hawaii when they traveled back and forth to the States. It was also
during this time that Lisa met many of her lifelong friends. When the
family moved back to the States, they lived in Arizona, New Mexico, and
Indiana. Lisa always had a bit of wanderlust and was able to travel to
many places during her lifetime including the UK, France, Spain, Italy,
Canada, and many places throughout the US. Lisa was a jill of all trades
and worked as a document control analyst, substitute teacher, and earned
her licensure as a desert landscaper. She also homeschooled her children
for several years.

Lisa was always passionate about the outdoors. She was an avid gardener
and was a weather watcher for CoCoRAHS. Her love for flora and fauna
extended to her great love for her dogs (and granddog). Above all,
however, Lisa’s greatest passion was her faith. At different times she
was a religious education instructor, sacristan, and Eucharistic
Minister. She had a deep love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus and
Immaculate Heart of Mary. She never failed to pray for her friends and
family and anyone else who was in need of prayers.

Over the last 2 years, Lisa suffered several setbacks in her health and
struggled with rheumatoid arthritis and idiopathic thrombocytopenic
purpura. Both diseases and their treatments compromised her immune
system greatly. While Lisa will be greatly missed, her family is
grateful that she is no longer in pain. Lisa will leave behind a legacy
of love, compassion, and great care for others.

In lieu of flowers, Tom, Rudy, and Risa request a small donation to the
Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation. https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.helpfightra.org_&d=DwIDaQ&c=euGZstcaTDllvimEN8b7jXrwqOf-v5A_CdpgnVfiiMM&r=CxJuGJN7WyT8W8RU9xPo5BQwNL7RtPlkO6jdHSm2zEs&m=JjK2jrAACC7Y2ovoPJZuXDrLdAYBO4REWJk61Bnn9-o&s=xl6tJkPpDJFUDc8mds7CosByZppypd8XtrDQFDYk7E4&e=
