George Steven Polson, beloved husband, father, brother and papa, passed away peacefully at his Arizona home on January 20, 2022 at the age of 65 with Felice, his loving wife and soulmate, by his side. George was preceded in death by his father, Evert, and his mother, Doris. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Felice, his son, Brett (Anne), his daughter, Brittany (Chris) Kaminski, his brother, Glenn, his grandchildren, Olivia and Theodore, and many other loving family members and dear friends who had the good fortune to know him.

George was born and raised in Chicago, IL and graduated from Schurz High School in 1975. He met the love of his life, Felice, in 1979, and they were married for over 40 years. He joined the Chicago Fire Department in 1980 and retired as a Lieutenant after 32 years of dedicated service. Following retirement, George and Felice bought a home in Gold Canyon, AZ to escape the Chicago winters. George fell in love with the sunshine, Superstition Mountains, and everything else retired life in Arizona had to offer. In his free time, he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family, friends, and neighbors. George will always be a genuine inspiration for his family and friends and will be remembered for his positivity, strength, good nature and infectious smile.

The family wishes to express their great appreciation to the staff of Valiant Hospice and Palliative Care.

A celebration of life in honor of George will be held in Chicago, IL at a later date with details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
