Gary Lee Flansburg passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2019, at the age of 76.

Gary was born on Sept 5, 1942, in Brainerd, MN. His work and family took him to a number of places in Minnesota in his early adulthood. He married the love of his life, Donna Marie Achterling, in 1969. They eventually settled in Mankato in 1976. During the 26 years of his time in Mankato he raised his family and owned several businesses, including Pagliai’s Pizza. At the time of his retirement, he moved to Arizona and had been splitting his time between Arizona and Wisconsin until the time of his passing.

Gary was an avid fisherman and hunter. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, with his kids joking often of his “Gary-isms”. He had a steadfast devotion to his family and his loved ones, and was immensely proud of his children and grandsons.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Ralph and Marie Flansburg, and his brother, Robert. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Donna, his son Brett (Jenny) and grandsons Keegan, Asher and Declan, his daughter Jodi Locher (Chris), and daughter Marnie. He is also survived by his sister Deborah Miles (Greg), sister-in-law Kathy, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will be hosting an open house on June 30 from 3-5 PM at Woodridge church, 1500 County Rd 24, Medina, MN. We welcome family and friends to stop by during that time to visit and share memories of Gary. A light dinner will be served for those in attendance. We look forward to reminiscing and connecting with family and friends and hope to see you there.
