Robert (Bob) Onofrio Joseph DeBernardo, 70, of Apache Junction Arizona, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020. Robert a retail manager, was born to Angela and Sebastian in Brooklyn, New York on February 27, 1950.
Robert spent three years in the US Army in Vietnam and Germany. Shortly thereafter he found his soulmate, Christine Bednarz. They were married for 48 years.
Robert decided to move out west from Long Island, NY to Casper Wyoming to make his new home and life which he did and made many memorable friends.
Robert was a great man with a huge personality, after years of working various jobs he was a number one advocate for the VFW.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Angela and Sebastian and his brother James.
Surviving family members include his wife, Christine DeBernardo, his two children, Jennifer Robinson (Ned), and Michael DeBernardo (Amber) and his brother Richard (Beth). Being blessed to have grandchildren, he is also survived by, Robert, Mia, Baylee, Sullivan, Vincent, and Shane.
Memorial services will be held at 1800 Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery on November 20th, 2020 at 11:00am. A celebration of life will be held afterwards at the VFW Post 9439 on Bryan stock Trail.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s hospital, the VFW, and Toys for Tots.
A longtime friend of 40+ years and definitely one of the good guys. He will be missed by many including all of our family.
