Wow! It never gets 💔 any easier, each time I hear of a Marine that I served with passing away. The one’s like you who I had the pleasure of supporting and guiding at some point are even harder. I’m always glad that someone informs me but I then wonder what I could have done to keep each one alive, how their family is handling it then I flashback and recall moments with each that have gone. We had great adult conversations in mu office since we were two of the oldest in the unit. 😉 Rest easy 😢 while we take, “the watch.” 😎

  15. Lyle says:

One of the greatest men I ever knew. I was lucky to have served under him in Iraq.

  16. Andrew Turner says:

He was my platoon sergeant in Iraq in 2007-2008. He was a great Marine and great leader. RIP Marine!

  17. Joy and Michael Fronc says:

We never met Duane, but heard many stories from Wendy and Eric Messina of their friendship and of late, his battle with ALS. He was lucky to have such dear and devoted friends, especially one as long as him and Eric and of such a caring heart from Wendy. Rest in peace Duane (aka Marine)
