Max Michael Maestas, 61, of Apache Junction, Arizona, passed away on August 13, 2026. He was a loving son, devoted brother, cherished uncle, cousin, nephew, and loyal friend.

Max proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Throughout his life, he worked as an aircraft mechanic and welder, bringing skill, dedication, and a strong work ethic to everything he did.

Max had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in hunting, camping, motorcycle riding, and spending time in nature. An accomplished guitar player who shared a lifelong love of music. He lived with an adventurous spirit and was happiest when doing the things he loved. His loyal dog, Stella, was more than a companion she was his best friend. Stella will continue to be loved and cared for by his family.

Max is survived by his sisters, Geraldine McKinney of St. Augustine, Florida, and Joanne “JoJo” Maestas of Charleston, South Carolina; his nephews, Joseph, Samuel, and Cooper; and his nieces, Taylor, Sara, and Raelyn. He will be remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Aurelio “Val” Maestas and Betty Maestas of Monte Vista, Colorado.

Max was taken far too soon, but the memories he created, the love he shared, and the lives he touched will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his infectious smile, and the special place he held in his family.

Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
