A life fully lived
On October 21, 2021, Michael Vincent Scimone Sr., a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away in Phoenix Arizona. Michael is survived by his beautiful wife, Mary Kay, and children Michael (w. Mona), James (w. Jennifer), Vicki (h. Joel), Mariah, Marissa, Mason (w. Haylie) and Morgan. He also has 3 adult stepchildren, 20 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers: Paul, Randy, Pat, Tony, and Vincent (pre-deceased), 2 sisters: Marcia and Virginia ‘Sue’. Michael was known as a compassionate, light-hearted, conservative, and a patriotic veteran who lived his life according to the oath he took as a United States Marine. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and always remembered in their hearts.
We are sincerely grateful to the many family and friends who have given us support and comfort during this time of loss.
The funeral will be at St. George Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Friday October 29th with a rosary beginning at 9:30 a.m. There will be a reception to follow.

For Mary Kay and all of Michael’s Family. there are no words that can really express our LOVE and feelings for Michael. There are many ,many, kind things
that Michael has done for others, too many to write but will be remembered by

I am so sorry for your loss. Mike will truly be missed. He always wore his heart on his sleeve. Two of my favorite memories:. 1. At Haylie and Mason’s wedding as the parents if bride and groom John and I sat next to Mike and Mary Kay. He was crying and the ceremony hadn’t started. I joked we need extra tissues. Tugged at my heartstrings. 2. When Mason and Haylie told them they were expecting a baby and he was going to be a Grandpa. The video was priceless. His face (yes and tears) said it all. Mike you left way too soon. ❤️🙏
My brother Mike was indeed a compassionate, humorous and loving guy. His love for Mary Kay and the huge extended Scimone Clan knew no boundaries. Mike was a proud Marine and was proud that every one of his brothers followed him in service to the Corps. He loved his golf no matter how frustrated it made him, and fishing. He was a great brother and best friend. I will miss him till my last breath but take comfort in knowing he will be waiting to greet me on the other side. Semper fi, and OOHRAH!
Mike was one of my oldest friends. I met him in the early 80’s when he bought Frenchies Auto Parts in Apache Junction. I worked for one of his suppliers so he was my customer
After a very short period of time Mike and I became great friends. I would spend more time at his store than any other customer. When he moved his store to Superior I helped him move and organize the store. We really did some funny things at the store. He will be missed.
My sincerest condolences to the entire Scimone Family. I have been blessed to be the best of friends with his daughter, Vicki, for 40 years now. While I did not see Mike often, in the times I interacted with him over the years, I have positive memories. I remember his sense of humor, his salt-of-the-earth demeanor, and his ability to keep his family close to his heart even when times were tough. No matter the circumstance, I always got the impression that Mike never skirted away from his obligations, he owned up to what was needed, and always stood up for what he believed was right. I see that same strength and integrity in Vicki, and so, in a way, her dad was a blessing to me as well and I am grateful. Mike Scimone Sr.’s legacy will live on in his loved ones, and may he rest in peace with our Heavenly Father. My love & prayers to the entire Scimone Family.
I don’t even know what made me think of Mike. But I knew him in El Monte — always a great guy that treated everyone wonderfully.
One last thing Mike – Semper FI — You and Mike Donato were the reason my brother and I went into the Corp. Best thing I ever did for my life ahead.
