Print ObituaryMary Jacqueline Bond, age 83, of Apache Junction, Arizona, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2021. Mary, most known to family and friends as Jackie, was born January 1, 1938 in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee.
Jackie’s love of the Lord was present in everything she did. She was a member of the Gold Canyon Church of Christ. She loved her family and the fellowship of her church family. Her passion was painting western art on canvas and stone. Her specialty was working with stone which was unique in the art world. As a member of the Payson Art League, her slogan was “A Brush with Jackie Bond” and she sold her work to friends and family all over the world. She enjoyed going to art shows and the comradery with other artists. She underpriced her work because she just wanted people to be happy no matter how much time she put in. She often gave them as gifts for special occasions or just because she wanted to help someone lift their spirits.
Jackie is survived by her husband, William T. Bond of 58 years, and her children Pamela Dee Arno, her husband James Francis Arno, Trisha Jill Kimberly, Todd Thomas Bond, his wife Nellene Ruth Bond, and five grandchildren; Justin, Trevor, Chase, Jamie and Jenna. She was the middle child of seven siblings. She’s survived by Malcolm Bumbalough, Kenneth Bumbalough, and Tony Bumbalough. She is preceded in death by her other three siblings; Charles Bumbalough, Charlene Johnson, and Rudy Bumbalough.

Wish we could all say goodbye in the traditional way expressing our love and shared memories for mom, but God knows our hearts and minds and its comforting to know she’s safe from any more pain and suffering. I’m so glad Jackie’s suffering is over and I’ll miss her very much. We had 58 years together and now she’s in a better place. With all my love, Tom.
Jackie was such a good friend and a wonderful sister in Christ. I will miss her very much. Her art work is amazing and I am so blessed to have a couple of her sandstone paintings. I will keep all of her family in my prayers. I love you Jackie.

The Lopemans met and became friends with this most amazing mom years ago when we had daughters Pam and Trisha as high school students and through the wrestling program. Jackie was one of a kind in the love and support she offered her children, her involvement in her church and the kindness she offered freely to whomever had the opportunity to cross her path. She was a beautiful and caring person inside and out and was an exemplary daughter of God. Jackie was an earthly angel. May Gods bless this family. Jackie earned her wings and is in a better place. Jackie made me a round painting in memory of my husband, Gene Spurlock, and it had an eagle on it on a mountain, Little did she know that the eagle is on the 101st Airborne patch that Gene served in for so many years, had it all engraved with his name and I am so proud of it, I loved Jackie and will miss her, God comfort the familly and God bless you all.
What a beautiful woman, inside and out. Jackie was so in love with Christ and His church and she didn’t just say it. She lived it so well and was such an inspiration to all who knew her. She also gave us a sandstone painting which I proudly display. She made better people of all who were around her. She was a joy to be with and so much fun as well. We will always think of her and smile. Our prayers to Tom and the family as we know they will miss her so very much.
I am devastated. I spoke to her a couple of months ago and we were talking about her art work. She was one of the best artist I have ever know. We are/were first cousins. I had no idea until one of our cousins told me this morning. My soul is full of grief as I know her family, friends, and Christian brother’s and sister’s will miss her too. We were close when we lived in Pleasant Hill and shared so many great times together. Gone, but not forgotten.
Tom and family, So sorry to hear of Jackie’s passing. We attempted to communicate by phone when we received the information, but was instructed that the number we had was in error. Please accept our condolences and know that we will miss her and wish God’s blessings upon you all.
Gosh, I loved this woman! She lived with us for a while, though I don’t remember much of that, but I do remember her as a funny, goofy babysitter! Mom decided in 1971 to go to AZ and stay with Jackie & Tom for the winter and wanted me to go with her, I went with her during the winters of ’71 & ’72. Jackie introduced us to Tacos, playing Rook, finding beautiful rocks in the desert, and a love of Superstition Mountains. I still have one of her paintings of the Mountains that she gave Mom & Dad. I loved Apache Junction so much, to this day I wonder how in the world I ended up in Florida instead of Arizona. She would often kid this young girl about the crush I had on Tom!!! LOL I have so many wonderful memories of Jackie, Tom and the kids, I will cherish them always. May God hold you close during these difficult days (years) without our Jackie. We have lost 3 important members of our family this year, but isn’t it a joy knowing we will see them again!
My parents, Cled and Vivian Wimbish knew her and she gave them a painting when we moved to Texas in the 60s. I wish I had found her info sooner. It would have been a blessing to visit with her.
