Ronald Dean Mapes, 71, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 at Banner Ironwood Medical Center in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Ronald was born on June 7th, 1947 in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the son of Jesse and Esther (Plehal) Mapes. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, Iowa. Ronald Graduated from Keystone High school in 1965. On June 12th,1965 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Mary Harder at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, Iowa. On December 7th, 1965, they were blessed with their daughter, Melissa and on February 12th, 1969 they were blessed with their son, Jeff.

Ronald loved to visit and reminisce with family and friends. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and golfing. He served as an Exaulted Ruler at the Overland Park Elks Lodge in Kansas, and was an active Past Exaulted Ruler in Laurie, Missouri and Apache Junction, Arizona, where he was committed to serving his community.

He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeff, his parents, a brother, and great granddaughter. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughter, Melissa; three grandchildren, Makaela, Jesse, and Jeremiah; Three great grandchildren Linkoln, Jaxon, and Alivia; two sisters, Gladys and Mary; and many nieces and nephews.
