Peter M. Dielemans Obituary

Peter M. Dielemans, 88, born April 14, 1929 in Geleen, Holland, died Friday, June 16, 2017 at his home in Apache Junction, AZ, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Mr. Dielemans graduated from Technical School in Holland as a skilled Machinist-Tool and Die Maker and worked for the STATS MINE MAURITS SBB in Geleen. He was active in soccer as a goalie, playing for The WILSKRAGT Club in his hometown of Geleen. Peter married Maria C. Keizers on January 25, 1956 and lived in Geleen until he immigrated to America on May 30, 1961. He then settled in Danbury, CT and started work for the PerkinElmer Corporation in Norwalk, CT as an Optical Technician and continued to work there for 25 years. While there, he worked on the optics for the X-Ray Telescope and the Hubble Telescope. After retiring from PerkinElmer, Mr. Dielemans worked for 10 years for the ITEK Corporation in Lexington, MA where he worked on the optics for the KECK Telescope. Peter played soccer for the Danbury German Club, was an avid bicyclist, and enjoyed camping, hiking, and nature. After retiring at the age of 65, he moved to Apache Junction where he lived for 23 years, traveling around the country and enjoying his view of the Superstition Mountains.

Mr. Dielemans is pre deceased by a son, Franjie Dielemans; his parents, Frans Dielemans and Adriana Dielemans [van der Made]; brother, Adrianus Dielemans; and sisters, Theresa van Liesdonk, Jeanneke Dielemans, Toos van der Hoeven, and Damieana Greiner.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary C. Dielemans [Keizers]; daughter, Elisabeth [Lilian] Nelson; sons, Frans Dielemans, Ricky Dielemans, and Gerry Dielemans; daughter-in-laws, Cynthia Dielemans and Joyce Dielemans; son-in-law, Bruce Nelson; grandchildren, Krisinda Alberto, Brittany Dielemans, Kendall Dielemans, Jasmin Dielemans, Garrett Dielemans, Adriana Nelson, and Tyler Dielemans; and great grandchildren, Ayla Smith, Emerson Alberto, Benjamin Waniski IV, and Nolan Alberto.

A Mass of Christian Faith will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St. George’s Catholic Church, 300 E 16th Ave, Apache Junction, AZ 85119, starting at 10:30am with a saying of the Rosary, followed by Mass at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Peter’s name to either Hospice of the Valley, 2020 E Woodside Ct, Gilbert, AZ 85297-7339, or PROJECT HELP, 195 E Superstition Blvd, Apache Junction, AZ 85119.
