Sherrill Longfield Obituary
Sherrill Longfield, 75, of Apache Junction, AZ passed away peacefully in her home following a short battle with cancer. Sherrill was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Charles and Virginia (Waddell) Longfield. After raising her six children, she moved to Mesa, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Stirnes; a sister, Margaret (Luther) Pollok; and a brother-in-law, James Lohrberg.
Sherrill is survived by her children, Sandra (Paul) Baroni of Calumet, MI, Wendy (Charles) Benefield of Kissimmee, FL, Virginia (Steve) Diano of Las Vegas, NV, Susan Johnson (Tim Kenney) of Grand Rapids, MI, Christopher Matthew (Lisa) Blake of Bithlo, FL, and Mary Blake (Raymond Powell) of Christmas, FL. She will also be missed by her 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, Sue Lohrberg of Mesa, AZ; her brothers, Charles (Heidi) Longfield and Thomas (Betty) Longfield both of Grand Rapids, MI; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also had many special friends whom she held dear and considered them as bonus family.
Before she passed, Sherrill was able to fulfill a wish of hers by visiting family and friends in one of her favorite locations, Cocoa Beach, FL. She will be missed most for her infectious laugh, her generous heart, and for telling things as they are.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Senior Cottages community room, 251 N 114th St, Apache Junction, AZ at 2:00pm. Arrangements are being handled by Superstition Cremation & Funeral Services, Apache Junction, AZ.
