MARY JUANIECE (SMITH) HAMILTON passed peacefully March 3, 2019 after a short battle with cancer. Mary was born September 30, 1949 to Vernon and Mary Louise (Johnson) Smith at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Dodge City, KS. She was a 1967 graduate of DCHS. After graduation, she moved to Phoenix, AZ where she worked at First National Bank in the Data Center and went to court reporting school.

Later she moved to Globe, AZ to work at inspiration Copper Company in the Data Entry & Inventory Control Department. In 1984, she had her son, (Clay). In 1987, she moved back to Kansas and went to work for the state of Kansas in Dodge City. In January 1988, she met the love of her life, Stanley Alan and married October 22, 1988.

She enjoyed traveling and visited Perth, Australia, San Francisco, CA, and took a Hawaiian cruise. She enjoyed spending time with her AZ family and friends. She and her friend of 40 plus year, Roberta Bittner, would spend endless hours sewing and playing “hand and foot” card game. Upon retirement, she and Stanley moved to the Valley of the Sun. She is survived by her husband Stanley Alan (Apache Junction), son Lincoln Clay (Las Vegas), brother Rawlin (Sara) (Dodge City, KS), brother Robin (Tressa) (Corpus Christi, TX), aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother (Leslie Smith). Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to Hospice of the Valley Arizona.
