Karen Anne “Mammers” Scott, 78, passed away peacefully in her home on December 12, 2020, surrounded by her beloved family. Karen was born on May 10, 1942, in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Agnes and William Peterson. She spent her early life in the farming community of Kenmare, North Dakota.

In 1959 her love of adventure lead her to California where she met and married her husband Carl Scott, who joined her on her journey for the next 60 years. Karen was devoted to children, both her own three kids and the hundreds of students she taught to read in her 30 years as a second grade teacher. She was a devout Lutheran who practiced her faith for many years by welcoming others to her church. Karen also loved to research her Swedish heritage and talk to her extended family about their stories and traditions.

Karen loved her family deeply and is survived by husband Carl Scott and her three children, William Scott, Laura Jeffery, and Kara Brenner. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren (Jessica, Janelle, Marissa, Matthew, Alicia, Noelle, Will, Brittany, Christopher, Zachary, Tiffany, and Marcus) and eight great grandchildren (Carter, Jackson, Adam, Kennedy, Braxton, Charlotte, Benjamin, John).

A private ceremony will be held for Karen at San Tan Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest alongside beloved family.
